The Master in Tourism is a full-time program designed to acquire solidmanagement skills and knowledge about tourism.

Upon completion of the master students will have the possibility to apply for managerial roles in the Tourism sector all over the Europe.

COURSE CURRICULUM

Program

Tourism and Global Economy

This module is designed to develop and strengthen students' understanding of the impact of global tourism on hostsocieties and cultures. This study presents the many inter-related factors of economics, perception, social values, culture, lifestyles, marketing, and government initiatives, which determine tourism patterns.

During this course, international and domestic tourism will be compared, taking into consideration characteristics, tendencies and travel pattern.

Strategy & Marketing for Tourism Services

This module is designed to provide marketing fundamentals and awareness of the role of marketing in the tourismindustry. In this module students will learn how to create and identify important marketing concepts such as: industry profile, components of the tourism product, levels of a product and the product lifecycle. Furthermorehow to manage new strategies and product development. This is not only a theoretical module, as the learner willbe immerged into the real practice.

Introduction to Financial and Financial Management  

The aim of this module is to provide the student with knowledge of business finance along with an introduction to the financialenvironment, finance and the ability to apply key techniques for using and managing financing in large and small organizations. After giving an overall picture of finance, the module discusses important variables in the business environment that can have a significant impact on the firm's financial decisions. Other important concepts such as the financial market and time value of money(TVM), risk management and capital costs and implementation will be discussed during this module. The path also presentcontents of italian system of accounting for big and small firms and tax system.

Smart Cities and Urban Planningy

This is an experimental module which drives students towards the changes of concept of our cities as well as the change of tourism related to it. The student will learn operational functions and planning, techniques of management and control, and optimizations to explore the notion of a city as a laboratory for innovation. The course reflects the change that technologies are applying to the operations of tourism management. 

Tourism Operational Management

This module introduces the key operational principles behind tourism management. It explores the complexities related to the tourism business environment and the unique nature of the tourism sector in national and global contexts. The module offers a foundation to the operations of tourism management.

Sustainability for tourism

The module is designed with the intention of introducing sustainable practices in human resources in the sector of tourism. This module also serves as a template for others to be developed for teaching sustainable tourism practices across the curriculum in tourism programs at institutions of higher learning. Tourism relies on the quality of the environment so the careful management of businesses, people and places is a critical issue for the sector. This module offers critical insights into the evolution of sustainable tourism; the impact on tourism on a variety environments; and the emergence of more sustainable forms of tourism. Although the module starts from first principles, it offers you an opportunity to develop a detailed and critical awareness of the theoretical and practical issues that influence how the principles of sustainable development are applied in tourism. The aims of the module are: to investigate the multiple connections between tourism, tourists and place-including the impacts of tourism on different environments and the role of tourism as an economic force within the climate emergency era; to critically evaluate traditional approaches to tourism planning, development stewardship of environmental resources; to develop an understanding of a range of strategies used to develop and monitor sustainable tourism in global, national and local contexts, and different business settings.

Negotiation, Problem Solving and Cultural Awareness

The global marketplace is a fast-growing and rapidly changing field. Global negotiation is a process where each party from two or more different countries involved in negotiating tries to gain an advantage for itself by the end of the process. The process of global negotiating differs from culture to culture in terms of language, different types of communication (verbal and nonverbal), negotiating style, approaches to problem solving, etc. The most important aspects of culture for global negotiating are attitudes and beliefs, religion, material culture, and language. This module encourages the better understanding of the process of negotiation: it defines the negotiation process, identifies the issues that are subject to negotiation and mentions the stages of negotiation. It discusses the importance of developing cultural awareness prior to negotiating internationally through descriptive overview of all aspects of culture. It gives examples of differences in global negotiating and doing business worldwide. The purpose of this module is to show theoretically the connection between these terms and provide information that will prevent business people from making mistakes and pitfalls in international negotiation process with a major focus in Tourism sector.

European Destinations

This module has a deep focus on how to use the skills acquired in the previous modules and how to apply them to European destinations.

The students will be able to be a professional able to explain the history, the monuments and present the best experiences to have in these destinations.
